linux.yes.nu/DigiMyth - Setting up a DigiMatrix HTPC with Linux

Cool (or) down
An important aspect of living-room technology is that people who want their living-room to look nice and clean tend to stack all equipment, which makes most equipment to overheat and fail.

Therefore, I want to know that my DiGiMatrix can monitor the temperature and turn itself off in the case it gets too hot.

The first approach to this is the init.d-script I mentioned earlier, that runs the asusfan utility provided by Art103.

But a more delicate matter is to decide how and when the box should turn itself off.
What is too hot for a motherboard or harddrive?
What is too hot for a processor?

Well, this is as far as my research has gotten:

Processor HDD Idle Stressed Dangerous
P4 NW 2.4 7200 RPM 36°C / 44°C / 45°C / 69% 51°C / 46°C / XX°C / 100% 65°C / 45°C / 55°C / N/A
P4 Cel 2.4 XXXX RPM 35°C / 44°C / XX°C / 49% 47°C / 44°C / XX°C / 85% 65°C / 45°C / XX°C / N/A
Syntax is: [cpu] / [motherboard] / [hdd] / [fan]

Does anyone have any input on this? I want this accurate so I can see if my DiGiMatrix can be put in my closable TV-bench or not. ;)
