linux.yes.nu/DigiMyth - Setting up a DigiMatrix HTPC with Linux

Telly!
Well, I got TV-in to work yesterday!

First, I opened up the box and found that I had a "LG INNOTEK TALN-M200T" PAL-chip.
I think I've tried the configuration before, but I guess I had screwed some V4L-stuff up, because when I modprobed the saa7134 with card=7 tuner=37 oss=1 and fired up mplayer, I could watch telly.

Actually, since some recent kernel, there's the card=80 option, which is "ASUS Digimatrix TV". So card=80 tuner=37 (which is autodetected if the digimatrix patch supplied with geexbox is applied), it seems as the perfect fit.

This is what I've realized from the forums:

Chip Norm modprobe opts Others that might work
LG INNOTEK, TALN-200T PAL card=7 tuner=37 card=2, tuner=15

To get the a/v-sync good, there are three things one should check:
  • Don't use VESA FB. If FB - use SIS FB
  • Don't use the Mp3-audio for Live-TV
  • Set MythTV to sync on Video

It was the third point that solved my problem. Notes:
  • alsamixer -V capture: set "capture" on "Capture", lower audiolevel to 0 to reduse noise
