linux.yes.nu/diNovo - Using the Logitech diNovo Media Desktop in Linux

Unleashing the power of the keyboard
I had played with XFree86 xkbd-configurations before, so I started looking up the keys.

I didn't know exactly which files that would make any difference, so I just made a "logidmd" entry everywhere there was a "logicdp" entry.

That is:
  • rules/xorg
  • rules/xorg.lst
  • rules/xorg.xml
  • symbols/inet
  • symbols.dir
Thanks to the nice Gnome keyboard-layout switcher, debugging was made easy and the configuration of the main-keyboard was finally done.

I have to admit that some keys didn't work (The alternate F-keys New, Reply, Forward, Send, Redo, Print, Save, My Doc, My Pic and My Music). Anyone willing to dig into this can start at www.linuxquestions.org; all I got out of it was a hint that the 2.6 kernel might have a bug with those kind of keys.

Now, all I really "needed" were to get the LCD on the Mediapad to work.
I didn't see anyone who'd done it before when I browsed the web, but instead I saw someone asking about Logitech's own protocol for communication.

I didn't have an answer to that question, but who could answer that question better than Logitech themselves?
